Pretty Poinsettias

Here’s wishing everyone a beautiful weekend!   Thanks to DT Alumni Sue Eldred for sending me this beautiful card she made using our new Poinsettia Background and Celebrate stamps.   Easy Peasy Pretty!

“Must Have” Card Making Accessories

One of my favorite new stamps is the whimsical Wood Background stamp we released last month.  Our design team has used it in all sorts of ways to create depth, add color and texture, and liven up the backgrounds of their cards.   This is a large stamp though and requires a BIG acrylic block.   No problem!   The Mega Mount is the answer.   A large, sturdy, ergonomically true acrylic block designed specifically for this type of stamp.    You won’t be sorry you invested in a Mega Mount!  Here’s a great video that shows how the Mega Mount will help with those large background stamps.

My other “must have” card-making tool is my set of Craft Picks.  Any of you who own Serendipity Stamps dies know that there are LOTS of teeny tiny bits of pieces of paper cut from the designs!  Just look at the Pear Die cut in the card below!   Our dies cut clean and true, but I’m always glad to have a craft pick handy to poke out those stray bits, pick up a tiny piece, or dab on a tiny bit of glue.

Take advantage of our Buy 3, Get a 4th Free sale (today is the last day!) to get one of these items free!

The Serendipity Stamps DT was challenged to make Autumn Cards that included a design element created with glue.   I made the card you see here using the Heated Pearls tutorial from  I used our Oak Leaf Scroll and Oak Leaf Outline dies to create the leaves from my heated glue and pearlex faux marble.   I added our With Sympathy Large image at the bottom.   (sorry – I got a bit sloppy with the EP – I was watching the Royals playoff game at the same time – go Royals!)  This was a fun technique and I ended up with a variety of “marbled” pieces that you’ll see in the future.
