Here’s a quick card I made last night. I used our new Party Balloons die and our Pity Sayings Cling Stamp Set. I am very impatient when it comes to the little bits and pieces of dies. To streamline this process I glued some labels to the back of my black cardstock before I cut the die. (I have a stack of unused labels that I pick up all sorts of places – start watching and you’ll see how often you come across them!).
- Apply the glue to the front of the label – that way the release paper is on the back of the die cut.
- After cutting out the die, carefully remove the background, leaving the balloons and confetti in the die.
- Remove the release paper from the back of the balloons and confetti while they are still stuck in the die. A craft pick works great for this.
- Position the die on the cardstock and use a craft pick to push on the balloons and the confetti through the poke holes so that they come out of the die and stick to the paper. Be gentle – if your craft pick is very sharp you’ll poke a hole in the balloons – don’t want that!
Did you know that you can get a FREE craft pick with any Serendipity Stamps order of $25 or more? While supplies last!
The card above was created by our February Guest Designer Darnell Knauss for our Anything Goes Challenge. Darnell used our Hot Air Balloons die to create her card. See those fluffy clouds in the background? They are part of the Hot Air Balloons Die. Darnell cut some xtra clouds an added them to her card. By the way, you still have plenty of time (until 2/28) to enter your card for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate!
Yesterday I posted DT member Julie Warner’s Bird Bath card and pointed out what a good job she does of tying together various elements within her design. But I forgot to point out that Julie had also used an element from the Hot Air Balloons die! When you’re trying to decide whether or not to purchase a die or any product, look at the various elements it includes. You might end up using that die in all sorts of projects!

The card above was created by DT member Julie Warner using our new Birthday die and our Bird Bath stamp. Julie is so clever at tying together different elements of her cards. She how she fussy cut a couple of extra little birds from the Bird Bath stamp and nestled them into the Birthday die cut and how she mimicked the yellow lilies of the stamped image with the little yellow silk flowers? Check out Julie’s blog to see another card she posted during the hop!
Cards for Friends
Our theme for this month’s blog hop is Friends/Miss You. One of my resolutions for 2016 is to work harder at keeping my long time friendships going. You know – that friend you only see every few years, but it seems like no time at all has passed once you’re together? Send that friend a card! Remind her how much you care about her. Tell him how much you miss him! One of the new stamps in the Friendship Catalog Release is the small verse “I’d never forget you.” Pair it with our adorable little elephant and the PPP Speech Bubble dies you’ve got a great card for that BFF. Just click the link to display and print the page.

It’s time to clean shop at Serendipity Stamps! After 15 years of business I’ve got things that I just don’t need any more. But maybe you do! So I’ve set up a yard sale with bargains galore and they will change all the time. Most items are stamping related, but just like most yard sales, you never know what you’ll find (for example, right now you’ll find the brand new snow pants and goggles I had to buy last month when my suitcase got lost on the way to a family ski trip – never had to use them!). Some items I have lots of – like clean, unused wood blocks. Others I have only one – like the slightly used Power Punch with 4 new punches. Go take a look. If an item says it’s sold out, email me to be sure – sometimes the inventory gets wonky.
February’s Serendipity Stamps Challenge is Anything Goes! That’s right – make any card and as long as it includes a Serendipity Stamps image you can submit it to our Blog and you could be the winner of our random drawing for a $20 Gift Certificate!
The card above was created by DT member Jeanne Jachna. It would make the perfect “Valentine” to send to your best friend or to the friend you haven’t seen in years, or to your husband or your sister. Jeanne used our Table For Two Set.
Below are two cards from DT member Jenny Gropp. In the top one, Jenny used our Shamrock, Poker Chip, and Lucky Dies. In the next one Jenny used our Chick with Egg stamp.
