I Love Postcards!

Last summer while vacationing with my brother, he teased me about sending postcards.   “Nobody does that anymore except you!”   Well – even if that were true – I wouldn’t care.   I love mailing postcards!   I even bought and mailed one from the Vatican when I was in Italy a couple years ago (I was so excited I put the wrong address AND zip code on the card and it was still delivered!).

Recently I joined www.postcrossing.com.   I website that assists you in sending and receiving postcards to and from people all over the world.   I try to send hand-made postcards as often as I can.   I try to make them so that they’ll represent me – like the top one showing a “Blue Bird” and Dogwood – Missouri’s state bird and flower.  Or one that might mean something to receiver, like the one below it that I mailed to a woman in Germany who said one of her favorite flowers were Sweet Peas.

Two Stunning Cards

I’m going to take a break from our chalk projects so I can show you the two stunning cards posted by Serendipity Stamps Design Team member Jeanne Jachna on www.splitcoaststampers.com .   On both cards she used the Bird Die and the Peace stamp.   Jeanne has used Christmas colors for the background papers but you could easily use other paper and make these cards for weddings, sympathy, anniversaries, etc.

The chalkboard technique is very popular right now and you’ll see some examples from the Serendipity Stamps Design Team on the SSCB.   This one, from Anya Schrier looks just like she sketched it with a stick of white chalk doesn’t it?   Anya used our Birch Candles stamp to create her card.   Have you tried out this technique yet?  Here is a tutorial from www.splitcoaststampers.com.   Give it a try using a Serendipity Stamps image in your design and enter it in our challenge!

NOTE: Serendipity Stamps will be shipping on a limited schedule from Dec 16th to January 13th. We will be closed and not shipping at all from Dec 23rd to January 6th. Of course you may place your orders online at anytime and they will be shipped ASAP beginning 1/13. Thank you for your understanding and I wish for you a Christmas filled with joy and a New Year filled with blessings.

Chalk It Up!

Check out the new challenge at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge blog!  It’s so simple – just use chalk!   And a Serendipity Stamps image of course.   Then submit your design for a chance to win $20 off your next order.

As always, the SS Design Team came up with a great batch of inspiration for you.   Check out the card above.   Jeanne Jachna created it using our Shell Wreath Large, Merry Merry Merry, and Sea Horse stamps.  This card is just stunning – I love the subtle effect of the blue on blue sea horse in the background!

Stamped Snow Globe Wonderland

This beautiful creation was Serendipity Stamps Design Team member Julie Warner’s contribution to our Shaped Card challenge.   It’s so much more than a “card” – it deserves a category of it’s own.  Julie used our Winter Farm stamp.   To see how she created her winter wonderland be sure to visit her blog – and be sure to let her know what you think of it by leaving a comment!
